Getting started and access
Do I need a dietitian to use MyTrela?+

Can I adjust a recipe to my calories and macros?+
Yes. Choose a calorie target or one or two macro targets. MyTrela adjusts ingredient quantities and shows the resulting nutrition. Review the result and any differences from your targets before saving.
Link to this answer ↗How is calorie scaling different from macro scaling?+
A calorie target scales ingredient quantities proportionally. Macro mode adjusts individual quantities for one or two targets while retaining the base portion’s calorie target. Results account for rounding; not every combination of targets can be matched exactly.
Link to this answer ↗Can I add my own meals and recipes?+
Yes. You can log your own food, add products and create recipes from ingredients, alongside the available library. A plan assigned by your dietitian remains a separate part of your care.
Link to this answer ↗Does scaling change the original recipe or my dietitian’s plan?+
The scaled portion is saved as your own entry. The original library recipe and your assigned meal plan remain unchanged. Agree on changes to your care plan with your specialist.
Link to this answer ↗How does the shopping list work?+
Bring ingredients from your meal plan together, add your own items and check off what you have bought. The list helps you prepare shopping for the part of the plan you choose.

What does MyTrela offer people with diabetes or insulin resistance?+
Meal planning, macro information and a blood glucose journal. If monitoring is part of your care advice, you can manually log readings, including after meals, and review your history and observations. Agree on your monitoring routine with your healthcare team.
Link to this answer ↗How do I log a blood glucose reading?+
Manually enter the value in mg/dL and the date and time of the reading. Choose a context: fasting, before a meal, after a meal or other. You can add a note to keep your own observations.
Link to this answer ↗Can I link a reading to a specific meal?+
Yes. When the measurements module is available, you can add a linked reading to a meal in your assigned plan. A standalone journal entry can also include an “after a meal” context and your note.
Link to this answer ↗Can I review my previous readings and measurements?+
Yes. Saved blood glucose readings appear in a history and chart with their time and context. You can also return to weight and body measurements, progress photos and notes, within the modules available to you.
Link to this answer ↗Are readings imported automatically from a meter or sensor?+
In the experience presented here, readings are entered manually. The journal does not connect automatically to a meter or sensor. The chart shows the readings you have logged.

What does dietitian support include?+
An individual plan, recommendations, resources and contact with your specialist, within the scope agreed together. Available modules and the way care is delivered depend on your chosen option and care arrangement.

Discuss your preferences and possible alternatives with your dietitian. The options available in your assigned plan depend on your care arrangement. You can log your own food separately.
Link to this answer ↗How do I contact my dietitian?+
Conversations, recommendations and resources have a place in the app. Agree on consultation availability, how you will communicate and response times with your specialist.
Link to this answer ↗Can my dietitian see my measurements and observations?+
An authorised specialist or team can review records available through your care arrangement and enabled modules. Access follows their assigned role and care relationship.
Link to this answer ↗Does MyTrela interpret glucose readings or decide on treatment?+
The journal brings readings and context together for discussion. Agree on interpretation, monitoring frequency and treatment decisions with your healthcare team. This view does not provide a diagnosis or medication doses.
